Scotchguard is what I typically use but there are others. Even sold in most grocery stores too.

There are sprays that will waterproof fabrics for outdoor use but if your chairs are in the sun much at all the sprays break down fairly quickly and you'll need to respray fairly regularly. The more permanent solution is to mix Mineral Oil and Boiled Linseed Oil in equal parts and paint it onto your fabric. Remember to saturate the fabric well with this solution. Then let your chairs dry well before use. Normally a few days.

If you do use Scotchguard, apply a coat, let it dry an hour, repeat at least two more times, make sure the folds get coated and there are no gaps, and let the chairs cure at overnight before you use them. Best wishes ☺️
There are many sprays that are available. I have seen it at my local grocery store as well as the fabric store.
Ive used the scotch guard fabric spray on jackets and it was effective.
There is a spray called a Fabric Protector. It's great for things like that. I used it on my recovered dining room chairs to keep spills and food from staining the seats.
Scotch Guard spray, readily available. Have used it on the cloth seats in the car.
Yes, there are waterproofing sprays specifically designed for regular fabric. These sprays can help make the fabric water-resistant, making it suitable for use in outdoor or damp environments. Some popular brands include Scotchgard, Gear Aid, and Nikwax. It's important to follow the instructions carefully and to test the spray on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric first to make sure it does not damage or discolor the material.
