The lighter colors make rooms appear bigger (Whites, tans, light pastels).
Mirrors will also help.
Smaller furniture.

paint colors are very personal....Your best bet is to browse through paint chips for a selection.When choosing colors it depends on how much light and you existing accessories to blend colors

Hi Linda ! Stay away from dark colors and concentrate on light reflecting colors like blues, yellows ,off white etc. If you really want some dark high energy colors use them as accent colors in your throw pillows and furniture etc. Happy decorating!
Lighter colors make a room look larger, darker hues also do the opposite. What is your favorite color? Perhaps a very very light shade of it would be pleasing to your eyes. Hope this helps.
