If the plant is pot bound then re-pot in the next size container with regular potting soil.Do not fertilize until it has overcome the transplanting.ZZ plants retain the moisture so water only when the first few inches of soil are dry to the touch.When you are ready to fertilize use a water soluble food by miracle grow. that will take care of the watering as well
