How can I change the colors of hydrangea flowers?
I’ve heard that you can change the colors of hydrangeas by using baking soda. Do you know about this?
Will white vinegar or baking soda harm/change the color of mulch?
I want to use each product to kill or reduce weeds in the flower and vegetable garden but am hesitant to do so.

It depends upon the acidity in the soil. The more alkaline, the pinker the bloom. More acid, it turns blue. Pine needles are very acidic, and you can spread those around your hydrangea base. Also Mir-Acid fertilizer will help. I always bury a couple of pennies with my hydrangeas, and then sprinkle the soil with Aluminum Sulfate every spring. (You can get it at any garden center) There are many hydrangeas varieties that are developed to have pink blossoms, so if that it the case, I am not sure if acidic soil will change those. Good luck! Add acid compost to the soil.You can add coffee grinds and used loose tea leaves as well which will add acid to the soil.
