Moth balls
My cat kept getting in my neighbors garden. They planted catnip outside the garden in a few spots and she loved it. She never entered again. Much nicer than any repellents!
They don't like citrus smells. You can try scattering some orange peels around the garden to discourage them from lingering in your yard
Get a motion activated sprayer and hook up a hose to it, when the cats come around it wets them, which is something they really don't like. Available at Lowes and Home Depot.
