in the water. Japanese iris. they multiply rapidly and are beautiful.
Water lilies are very pretty, and would provide shade for fish if you add fish. I have 2 hardy ones (my pond is much smaller) and I am able to keep them in the pond all year. I also have water Iris that bloom in spring. You could plant Canna bulbs along the edge. They would add a lot of color.
Blueflag Iris is a colorful one!
Don't forget the Willow Tree. Only one, about 50 feet from the edge of the pond. Depending on how far south you are, if you have a small amount of shade - Hosta also works well along the edge of a pond.
