My question as I watched these grandparents was always, "Why are you sweeping your yards, and why is there no grass around your house?" We have grass around ours.
Wipe everything down with vinegar. Bleach spreads mold spores, vinegar kills them.

You have a moisture problem. Look at fixing that first. There are paints that have additives in them to retard the growth of molds in the paint. As your local paint dealer

You could try Kilz, its a paint . ask someone at your hardware store
Use the heavy-duty Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to remove the mildew, followed by a hose to remove the residue.
Naomi is correct- white vinegar kills mold. There’s even a “cleaning” white vinegar you can buy. Wash posts with vinegar/water and use “KILZ”.
We use KILZ paint to prevent mold and mildew.
