Vinegar is an acid and not recommended for fiberglass. I use BonAmi on mine.
Fiberglass is very delicate, so when it is manufactured it is coated with a very durable clear coat. If that clear coat is coming off, your fiberglass will be exposed to the elements. It really needs to be recoated. If you want to refresh the color, there are paints available or you can recoat it with clear. Either way, make sure the label recommends the product for fiberglass.
