Having trouble growing Hydrangea's!
Last year I bought 2 beautiful hydrangea's in a nice pot and I placed them outside in my yard. They slowly started to look bedraggled. So I moved the pot to another area, still they looked bad. I planted them in the grown and gave them the recommended fertilizer for these types of plants. Still no increase in growth or flowering. Eventually I gave up and they both died. I love these beautiful plants and would love to have them in my yard. Please advise.

They love filtered sun ,mostly shade and water drainage is important. They need to be watered often but not soaked.mine are about 60 years old. They die back eack year and come back fresh each spring. Never cut the old stems, thats where the new growth starts. Hope this helps...lynn
