Work up, make some plant stands that are like a stairs, with enough room for a few pots going up, maybe three and however wide you can do. Hanging pots also can help, and if you have a railing, you can get window boxes that go over the thinner rails down the middle, or the regular ones you can hang off the thicker railings. I found some at Aldies that you could adjust to fit the rail. Make some of the pots flowers, and some herbs to mix in so that you have fresh herbs. Depending on the mature size of the plants, you can put a number of plants in each window box.
Almost anything that will withstand the weather can be turned into a planter. Just remember to put a few holes in the bottom for drainage. Try old pots, a sprinkling can, a 1/2 barrel, an old wheel barrow, Pinterest has a lot of container gardening posts.
