Using the wood switch plates you can paint and decorate them. I thing they’re easier than the plastic ones to paint but I also like wood. You and also pit contact paper on them. Have fun
Use material to match your room. Mod Podge the material to a cheap plastic cover. I did this design on wood, but have made them for covers before.
I bought the ones pictured below, I still have to change the plug but when I put them on it seems the outlet box is to far away so I had to buy spacers ! The covers were pirchased at black forest decor online! Just a heads up if you replace them!
I have had some luck(and fun!) framing them with dollar store picture frames. You might have to take the frames apart and cut them down for the smaller ones, depending on what size frames you are able to find. I just spray paint the frames and "frame" the outlet cover with them. To make it look like art, you can decoupage pretty patterned tissue paper onto the plastic outlet/switch cover, then apply the frame around it and you've got a framed "picture!"
I've seen people use colored sharpies to create patterns or art on them.
Thanks for all the great and fun ideas everyone! Here is one thing I came up with using masking tape and some leftover stain....I like the texture :)
Very nice Karen!
and you know, you can get some quality plates at Habitat Restore for very low prices.
Now all I can do is stare at my ugly switch plate covers. Karen very nice job.
I know people have good results with Unicorn Spit and also wallpaper.
There are many websites that sell the fancy ceramic ones... lots of patterns... there is always, decoupage, wallpaper, stencils... Pinterest.com should have some great ideas for you
spray paint with any color or use the Rustoleum spray paint that looks like concrete. Or use wall paper or contact paper for an update.
If you cant replace them ? Put wallpaper on them.
