plastic kiddie pool.
I have the same question. I have a small red rated slider. He needs more room. Too cold for outdoors. Kiddie pool is great for summer outside. But what about inside area that doesnt take a large amount of room?
How big is the turtle and do you want it outside or inside?
A rubbermaid tub with a clip-on light wouldn't take up a lot of space.
If these are for outside - look for people giving away hot tubs where the heater has broken. (Craigs list?) Or people getting rid of old garden style bathtubs.
See if you can find an old/used waterbed the vinyl is really thick and strong and should depending on the size give the little guys plenty of room to do their thing! What fun!
