Try digging them deeper in. Use a trowel to custom fit in hole. Then put rocks/gravel to stabilize.
rather than chipping and using for mulch, https://www.pinterest.com/saveoncraft/wood-slabs/ you can make neat stuff !
push them in concrete and fill up with little stones so you won't see the concrete
If you put a trim around them it might help a little.
Dug a hole where you want your wood at and fill the hole with concrete and level it out flush and let dry. After it’s dry use a exterior glue of even a silicone that’s not water soluble and it will hold your wood in place once it dries! I also be sure to put a good exterior finish on your wood pieces front and back as well as the bark edges to protect them, maybe even a epoxy be another good choice for protecting your wood too? Otherwise those will rot fairly quickly I’m afraid! Best of luck
Dig a little where you want them
Some of the rock needs to be cradled around the log slices to hold them in place. Either dig them down a little or add more rock.
