How do we extend our deck without replacing the whole thing?

We want to extend our deck to the end of the garage but don't want to rip the whole thing down and start over. What's the best way to add on so it looks seamless? Looking at the picture we'd be extending to the left and moving the lilac bush that's currently in the way.

Cement pavers. Also you can paint the deck and pavers to match and they will blend in. Some people make their own pavers, but I have not had good luck at doing this, I watch for a sale at Home Depot or Lowes and then I purchase.

You could do a step down deck at a lower level or just marry an extension on removing the railing and paint the new decking with same sealer to match.

I think a step down deck is the only way to go, as the windows on the garage are lower than the windows on the house. It could still look "seamless" and your deck boards wouldn't be above your window sills.

I would put in a lower level, maybe do it with pavers and paint the upper deck to match the new lower part.

Should be a very nice larger area to use and enjoy, I agree about the lower level because of the windows....question: what are those larger pieces on either end for? I see them as maybe plant hanging areas? I would remove the one going toward the two smaller windows so you will have a smooth flow from your door to your house to the end at the garage....
