I have my bed in front of a vent. I didn't do anything to the vent and have never had a problem.
As long as there is space under the bed it should not be a problem. Heat rises and it will come from under the bed. Just make sure the vent isn't totally blocked.
Thats a great question, Id like to consider to do the same thing.
You can buy a plastic cove that is long and adjustable that will direct the air from under the bed.
