I have a horned cow skull mounted on my painted lanai. We mounted a dart board and case on the other wall.
We painted the interior of the screened lanai a rust color on the 2 walls, have a fire pit, and teak furniture with striped cushions consisting of yellos, red, orange, green and blue stripes.
For the interior, mix shell collections with something southwestern in a display bowl.
I used to have rag rolled walls, but updated them to accommodate my current fishing theme.
Absolutely! Your home should reflect you and not some preconceived idea of what decor is "supposed" to be. What specifically do you have to work with?

Decorate it any way you like. Incorporate any of the ranch type items you love. Wishing you the best.
Wagon wheels for decor in the yard or porch, those life sized profiles of cowboys leaning on a post, horse quilts, horseshoe "trees" with Christmas decor on it (welded horseshoes in shape of tree) , Western decor in the home and on the porch, lariat hanged on wall, steer skull (even fake one) old photos or prints (like wild horses running) nicely framed in home in obvious places, old western sayings like "Code of the cow country" plaques, copper windmill on the mantel, porcelain or pottery western decor, horse lamps, decorated lamp shades in western scenes, any western ranch awards earned, Photo of the homestead, cactus cookie jar, cactus and coyote decor, faux stained glass with western scene, wall hangings, old western boots as planters, wind chimes, maybe this will give you some ideas you want to include in your waterfront home.
