I think this would work in an acrylic tub as it worked in a old cast iron tub with no harm or harsh chemicals. Fill tub with hot water , add as much Borax powder as you like, maybe 2 cups,et soak, It soaks off all the grease, scum.Hopefully stains. You could also try the same with oxi0clean.I moved into a house that the scrrens for stove vent looked like they had not be cleaned in 25 years. I was amazed at this. I put screens in laundry tub filled with water and oxi clean.Wow- they bubbled and foamed and came out sparkling clean!!. Maybe that would work with tub!
Do not use any abrasives please. Pour full strength white vinegar and let soak awhile. Drain and use sponge to wipe clean. That's according to an acrylic and plastic prof. Besides I wish oxiclean still bubbled but they took out 2 ingredients that really made it work just like the bubbling and foaming.
Try Easy Off No Fume Oven Cleaner. If that doesn't work then the clear coat is compromised. You may need to refinish it with a tub and tile paint kit.
Easy Off in the blue can. Spray it on, turn the exhaust fan on and leave for about an hour. Scrub and rinse.
Use Easy Off Fume Free Oven Cleaner in the blue can if its real grimey. Then follow up with Bar Keeper's Friend after you've rinsed it.
Ophs then if the finish was compromised get Gel Gloss at Walmart to make it shine again. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Gel-Gloss-GG166-Fiberglass-Polish-Protector-Bottle-16-oz/100775275
Thank you everybody for all of your advise......will try any and all...!
