This should get you started:

A blanket, a hanging storage unit, a pocket to add to a pocket-less jacket, potholders, a travel bag for makeup/hair care/toiletries, an over-the-arm catchall for phone, TV remote, pens/pencils. That should get you started.
Advent calendar, paper clip coral, pens, ie office home work station.

I recently read a post where jean pockets were sewn together (like a quilt) and hung on a closet door. It was being used for storage of all kinds of small things. Very cute. I read another post where squares of felt were inserted in the pockets and were being used as coasters. Also very cute.

I like them stuffed with flatware, napkin for a table setting, could pair nicely with mason jars as beverage glasses.
Sew Velcro across the top of the pocket, slide a tile inside, close it up using the Velcro and use as a hot plate/trivet or drink coasters. You can remove the tiles to launder.
