    Soak a wash cloth in dish water, put over crusty gunk. Let it be for 30 min. Or so then check if any is loosened. Wipe up the loosend bits, repeat.

    Do not turn the heat on. Sprinkle some baking soda over the area. Place a damp cloth on top and wait for it to soften. Then scrape with a plastic scraper. Clean the entire top with Cerama Bryte.

    l Wait until the surface is cool. Then spritz with a small amount of vinegar. Sprinkle a light coat of baking soda. Let dry. Scrub it off with a microfiber cloth.

    I use both baking soda and vinegar let it foam and soften up. For the stubborn stuff I use a safety razor IN A HANDLE. Then use the creams brite...like new. The serviceman told me about the razor.
