Mine does, and though I don't use the lights often, they come in very handy when you have company or are trying to see if you missed any spots when you dusted and vacuumed. LOL!!
its a personal preference as well as a logistics one...my ceiling was never wired for a fixture.

Not necessarily. There are lighting kits you can buy that will attach to the fan. It all depends upon if you like overhead lighting.
I am yes on lights on fans. I prefer light kit with a glass shade that prevents you from seeing the bulb and provides more ambient light. You can also get down facing light kits if you prefer.
