These are beautiful trees and I was smitten with them from the first time I saw one at a neighbors home.
Now, I would think twice about relegating to the garage or basement next winter as we do not need a repeat performance.
There is great advice in the above sites. I would keep it in the sun and pray really hard. 😇 Hopefully another Hometalker will have further pearls of wisdom for you.
My only experience with them is here in CA where they grow like weeds. I desperately wanted one, but they are highly poisonous if ingested and I have a pile o pets and a toddler next door, so I am not yet willing to tempt fate.

Do not over water the vine.Your location is not specified, however here in NY they have not started to bud.Scrape a little of the bark to see if it is green.

Do not over water while it is dormant or else you may rot the roots. It is early yet, so give it time.
Just wait...it may come back once you bring it out into the sun.
