what do you mean, how to clear a bathroom tub stopper?
I use a long hair grabber. Most of the buildup is from hair that traps soap scum. The grabber is super cheap and very effective.
Hello! If the water is not draining, initially use a plunger. The old fashion rubber kind is best. The new plastic ones crack and water goes flying all over. That’s what my son-in-law told me because it happened to him. Then, use what they call a snake to pull out any hair that is down in the drain clogging it. The snake is simply a long plastic tool that has little spokes on it where any hair in the drain can attach itself to the snake. Thenpull the snake up with the hair and you should be good to go. Good luck!
They actually make a tool for that-only costs about 2.
Remove the stopper, then using a large pair of needle nose pliers, reach into the drain and pull out the most disgusting, long, mass of unidentifiable goop you've ever seen. Have a trash bag ready and in the tub before you start.
I’m sorry to all the folks at commented above I did not phrase that correctly. My bad.I actually do know how to unstop the drain and all those ways listed is what I’ve utilized. What I am interested in is removing the tub open /shut valve for an older tub and replacing that.
not on how to clean the drain, but the metal ring that surrounds the porcelain opening for the drain and metal stopper.
