Clean them up and keep them rustic, then use them as a spice holder.
Put some shelves in them and hang them up to display things.
This is what I did with two I had.
What a great find. I would clean them up without taking the rustic look away. They are great for serving at outdoor parties. Holding extra towels in the bathroom, all the mail on a counter... oh dear I could go on and on. Wish I had about 10 of those.
They look lovely with flower display in them. You could also join them to small collapsible tables, for outside, or inside use for extra storage for party times.
You could fix a garbage bag liner inside and fill with ice and then use as a cooler for drinks.
you can put wheels on them and make wagons for plants, magazines, dolls, etc
You can use them to hold blankets and throw pillows.
