Chemically dyed mulch is something that professional gardeners seldom recommend.
They make different colors not because some have no sense of what looks updated but because every home utilizes a different color pallet. You should use what you think looks good on your totally unique landscape.
What color is your home? What are your homes accent colors such as doors, shutters etc? What color plants and flowers do you have planted against your home? These answers will help! Thx😀
need to see the front of the house. That makes a big difference.
Note that Some colored mulches contain paints or stains that can splash onto your house... be careful in your shopping!

I prefer the brown mulch. We have recently starting replacing our regular shredded mulch with rubber mulch. It is a bit pricey, but when you price how much you spend on mulch every year versus buying rubber mulch, which has a warranty against fading and is guaranteed for 12 years to retain color, prevents weed and keeps your plants healthy, it's a no-brainer. Here is a picture of our rubber mulch with the rubber border. We used dark brown. So easy!!!!
Yes, rubber looks good, but what of the butadiene?
I would not use the rubber mulch if your purpose is to keep moisture . Wood mulch is meant to be turned over in the soil every few years. I would recommend cedar mulch - it last a lot longer as it repels bugs, and is a harder wood than the typical pine. All the colored mulch fades over time.
