try watering if you see them 'go'....otherwise, rake really well, toss some seed made for small areas and water daily...it should fill in!

If it is your dog there is a product that you feed the dog that prevents this from happening. Follow the advice on how to fix the problem, then use the product that will prevent further damage to your lawn. If it is a neighors dog you will need to have a friendly chat with the dogs owner.

Water, water, water and then water some more. Urine is full of nitrogen-containing compounds which leave salts in the ground. These salts steal all the water away from the grass roots. When you water a lot, you're not only replacing the water that the grass needs, but you're also diluting the salts and washing them away.
The most obvious answer is to go out with your dog with a bucket of water and rinse.
Train your dog to only go in a certain area, then you will not have a lawn full of burns.
Also if his is a female dog which is not spayed, the urine has a higher concentration of hormones. This can cause more damage than urine from a spayed dog.
