I have had an idea that uses old bowling balls, just don't have enough as of yet. Make a frame in the garden that you can put down a base of bowling balls and then make a pyramid going up!

Get two stands for sundials and place your boling balls on the, top, this would look nice. If your bowling balls are colorfull it would look good, the holes face down of course.
