What kind of mark? Like a scuff from one of the pots and pans? Pull out your owners manual and see what it says about cleaning - I am sure they have anticipated this issue.
If your mark is from a marker of some sort, isopropyl rubbing alcohol will take of most marks. You can try it on other types of marks too, since I am not sure what kind of mark you are asking about. Good luck!
If it's burned on food, spray it with vinegar and dust baking soda over the vinegar. It will foam but let it sit for a while and then wipe it off. I've also sprinkled baking soda on the cook top then sprayed with vinegar. I left it overnight (because I forgot about it!) and when I wiped it off in the morning it was beautiful!
