How to go about making my kitchen and living area an open living area?

I have a two story home that i'd love to knock down the wall that divides the kitchen and the living room. but i need experts help with knowing if it's possible without compromising the second level floor. i need help

    You need to determine if the walls are load bearing or are structurally necessary. Call someone to check this for you. It can be VERY important and is worth a few extra dollars to find out.

    because there is a second floor involved ,I would reach out to a contractor with more experience

    First order of business..... Is the wall in question load bearing? In other words, does it hold up the second story. If it does, then this is not a good wall to remove. It is possible, but you would need a specially engineered beam to be set in place of the wall. I think you really should have a skilled carpenter put eyes on the project before proceeding. Offer to pay a consultation fee for coming and giving his assessment
