If you are renting you need the landlord's permission first. Have you contacted your insurance company to see if they will allow that? Will you need to get a permit (depends on where you live)? Will this sit on a cement floor or will you get a pad for it to sit on? Might be better in the long run to have a professional install it. We got a great deal on a used wood stove and installation wasn't that much but they did an outstanding job. That wood stove was installed on our patio on a cement floor with plenty of space between it and the walls.
