I place my jars in a bowl of boiling water.... the wax melts, then I pour the melted was on newspaper or paper towel... (I save those to help start our fire place. ) I then wipe out the jar with a clean cloth to get out all the wax. Then place in my dishwasher to clean.
I remove the metal piece and any metallic labeling .Then I place my jar in the microwave melting the rest of the wax. Then take a paper towel removing the rest of the wax and wash and scrub with Dawn ( blue) dish soap.
Viola! I have a pretty jar ( usually with a lid) to reuse for so many things!
Good Luck☘️!
I burn off as much wax as possible...wait for the remaining wax to harden and then break the wax with a butter knife, scoring it as many times as needed. Most of the wax pops out by that point. Any remaining residue I just wash off with dish detergent and a sponge as like any dish...I do this to reuse jars either as storage containers or in further candle-making. Takes a bit of time but not difficult generally. If the wax is too soft, I place the jar in the freezer and then try "breaking" the wax again and that usually does it.
Thanks! I have a few ideas/options. And will try this one.
