Is there an state extension service nearby ? if so bag up a cutting and take it to them for advice,
Woops didn't mean to end there. You can also bag and take to a local nursery and speak with their master gardener. With something like this its next to impossible to determine what your dealing with through online pictures , but most nurseries will be happy to help. Good luck and happy gardening .
