Seeding is only the final part of making a lawn grow. If you are not preparing the soil, only weeds will take hold. You didn't mention if you have a crop of weeds growing there. You also didn't mention if there is sun on the slope at least part of the day.

Contact your local Agricultural Extension office for planting advice in your area. They will understand your climate and soil and be able to advise accordingly.

The north sign gets very little sun, the soil remains hard and the grass won't grow. Try overturning the soil, about 6 inches, and soak the ground with the hose. The seed will penetrate the soil, and it should grow. Wait a day or two, and water again. Don't flood the water. The seeds will rise to the top and be washed away.
What procedure did you do to grow the seeds there are a few steps involved.What kind of seed was used.
