yes, what's your question
Yes. If it is new it probably has a primer on it. If it has been installed for a while make sure there are no rust or bare metal spots. Rust needs sanding off and all bare metal needs primer with a metal primer. Just go to a good paint store (not a general hardware and lumber store) and ask what paints are good for exterior metal. Get the best you can afford. Better paints don't splatter as much and they are longer lasting. Most likely it will be an acrylic latex which is water based. A quart will be more than enough.Don't buy the cheapest equipment. You will need a brush that is made for the kind of paint you are using. You'll need a roller made for smooth surfaces. If you buy a cheap one you'll end up with pieces of fiber from the nap in the paint. I roll on the paint by sections and immediately after doing a section, I brush it in one direction with one smooth stroke. You will need at least 2 coats. Watch a YouTube video on painting a door, especially if you have a door which has trim or raised areas. There is an order to painting the parts for best results. Don't forget to paint all the edges and top.
