Here are instructions for an above-ground pool:

I used this same video Ann just referenced to replace the liner in my pool. I ordered the medium weight liner along with the return basket, jet and felt and foam coves for the bottom and bottom edges (all from In The Swim). While I was waiting for my parts, I removed the caps, the existing liner basket, and water jet. Then I cut around the bottom of the old pool liner. Then the side piece was easily removed. I cut the side piece into a rectangle and folded several times to use as a base for my ladder. When the liner arrived, I unfolded it and let it sit in the sun for a few hours for easy handling. Then I removed the steps, but put a step ladder in for easy ingress/egress. Then I folded the new liner, put it in the middle of the pool and unfolded it. Wearing socks, I pushed the liner around until it was even and secure along the edges. Then re-attached all the pump pieces and re-attached the caps. Just follow the video instructions. It's a lot easier than you think.
