One of your best bets for this is Venetian blinds, you can angle the slats upwards to block the sun but still let natural light in, they are truly timeless
and you can use them to get a splash of color into your room if you wish
Im considering a frosted window privacy film. I wish to install it on windows in a master bathroom.
I need to investigate if it can harm or void a window warranty. Im just beginning to look into this myself.

Additionally I know they have a spray on aerosol for glass frosting.

Window tint (like on car windows). Available in rolls at Lowe's to apply yourself.
There are window films that block part or all of the sun. Some claim to reflect the sun. I have considered them myself but have read they can be difficult to install. If you take your time you might be able to manage it. A link attached explains the various types. Good luck

youcan put a reflective tint in n yourself, but it is painstaking to have it look right. You can get quotes for professional installation. It will save you on energy as well!
I've used a rice paper privacy film from Bed Bath & Beyond. Not only does it provide privacy but lets light in as well.
We've used the window cling material to do exactly this. It is rather pricey at the local stores but if you look on Amazon or ebay there are chinese versions much cheaper.
I have a huge window in my front door and wanted privacy, but I still wanted the sunlight. I went to Home Depot and bought a can of frosted spray paint. I got my painters tape out and made a design with the tape that I liked on the window and sprayed the window with the spray can of frost and lifted up the tape when it was dry. It worked great and I love it. Easy to clean the areas that weren’t painted with the frost and it doesn’t come off easily. I still get the sunshine and have the privacy I was looking for.
