If you have a Cartridge World nearby they will take your empty cartridges and then you can buy refilled ones there for cheaper - we used to own a Cartridge World.
I take my empty ink cartridge to Staples.
Both Staples and OfficeMax(Office Depot) will take your empty/used cartridges and currently offer a $2 reward credit you can later use toward a future purchase. Join their rewards program. Do you have either of those chain office supply stores near you?
I go to staples also.
Staples
Each Base Rewards member may recycle up to 10 cartridges per month, and each Premier Rewards member may recycle up to 20 cartridges per month of any used ink or toner cartridge sold at any retail store in the U.S. or on staples.com® and receive $2 back in recycling rewards per cartridge.
Office Depot/ OfficeMax
You get $2 back in program rewards for each ink or toner cartridge that you recycle, up to 10 cartridges per month, when you make a $10 qualifying purchase the same month. You can recycle additional cartridges, but rewards will only be issued on 10.
