That's a big job. Everyone I've talked to recommends using a steamer - you can rent them.
I've used a product called Dif, making sure I followed the directions re: wait times to the letter so it works extremely well. (If you don't, you end up leaving some of the backing on the wall...the "fuzz"...and that's more work to remove.) I've also heard you can use fabric softener in hot water, the same way. THAT makes your room smell delightful at the same time.
Get a great steamer. We were going to rent one from Home Depot but it was cheaper to buy. After you get the wallpaper off, you usually need to sand and patch some spots.
