So sorry to hear about your father. I lost my dad too, it's so hard. Some ideas are you can paint the cabinets, and add new hardware if you wish. I included some links for that. There are lots of easy backsplash ideas out there, from peel and stick, to wood, etc, I put links there too. For countertop, your best bet is to buy a kit from brands like Gianni or Rustoleum at a home improvement store or on Amazon. The kits are not very expensive, and come with everything you need to do a food safe counter top.

It looks like contact paper on the cabinets. Floors look good from pictures. Are you looking to redo everything else? Do you want to go new or just rehabbing the look?
Hi, honestly, just a few repairs and possibly change the handles, quick coat of primer and paint and these to look pretty decent. The broken drawer can likely be repaired easily. Concentrate on one thing at a time, start with the cupboards & drawers, then if you like, paint the counter tops (they look pretty good though), paint the walls. Paint itself sure changes how thing look.
Remove the contact paper, de-clutter, fix the drawers and remove contact paper..... then you can paint or leave for a rental.
Those lower cabinet doors with the center knob.... I would try to get a knob that looks more like the other knobs, or replace them with just a large stained wooden one you can get them at the hardware store. or you could fill the center holes and put new coordinating knobs on the door edges like the other cabinets.
My cabinets looked similar to yours. Here they are after a good cleaning, primer, and 2 coats of latex enamel gloss paint.
