First apply paint and let it dry. Then wipe sandpaper over the paint. Looks well used. Another piece of decor is using what you have. For instance, if you have a tablecloth, you could make curtains. They also use barn style doors and shutters inside the home.
There are tons of ideas but what room do you wish to do or are you talking about sporadically in your whole house. Ideas like lace pillows with decorative buttons or floral arrangements use wildflowers. Add table runners using ivory or pastel color fabric. Arrangement of various sized candles.
