Hi Patricia. I would put seed into a live trap and trap it. Then you can release it in away from your home.
I have a spot in my front hostas that I give treats to my resident chipmunks, stale cookies, cereal, nuts, etc. and that helps a lot. If the resident critters still bother things (usually dig holes, but don't damage plants), I bait mousetraps with peanut butter and put them at the most used spots and the snap scares the bejesus out of them and they avoid the area for quite a while. Switch to another area they bother until you have all the areas covered.
