Is wood burning hard?

I have all the supply but not sure where to start

I'm looking for something nice bit nothing that will get me into trouble and stress me out and scare me away from it. Plus I don't have a printer right now to print a picture and don't think I could sit down and draw something up and not take me a year to be happy with it. Should I buy an already kit so I have to try the pattern that comes in the kit? Like the looks and even the electrical burning but read of people dying from it . I don't need that , don't have the time in a day to make for it .
