    Its too cold at night or you are overwatering

    If the plants are subjected to cold weather, probably from being put out too early in the year for your area, that could kill them immediately-within 24 hours. Or, too much of a fertilizer like manure-that is too strong for any plant, it needs to "season" and will be ready for the next years planting...too much of a good thing!

    No its in the 90's here in Georgia. It be only one plant at a time that die overnight. No bugs.

    If the stem is cut through it could be cutworms. Also could possibly be moles / voles eating the roots.
