Landscape cloth cut to fit between rows and covered with/held in place by mulch. Plant your veggies a little closer to each other to discourage weed growth and hand hand weed whatever manages to get through. Take a plastic bag for weeds with you every time you go to check your plants.when you go to check y
use newspaper,cardboard ,heavy landscape fabric and top with mulch

Raised beds will help a lot and the taller your beds the fewer the weeds and sometimes it takes a couple season for the weeds to weaken so make sure you keep pulling them out by the root. You may like some of these examples I've attached.
