I'm remodeling a small bathroom on a small budget. Advice?

It's the original 1958 half wall tiles with full tiles in the shower. The upper walls are paneling of some sort. What's the best method to remove the tiles? Is beadboard paneling suitable for a bathroom? I'm thinking of taking down the tile and upper paneling and replacing with beadboard paneling throughout and a new shower surround. The room would be all white upon completion, including white vinyl tiles on the floor. Is this too much white?

You can always add color with towels and bathmats and shower curtains. White should be bright and fresh! You'll love it!
I would always go with a white or off white in the bathroom. Earthy tones that you can add any color rug or towels or decor with. If you pick one specific color, you have to work around that color. White or off white leaves you open for any kind of decor.
