Crown molding? A hammer and a pry bar. Wall paper? Steam or there are products designed to remove wallpaper. Just brush it on and wait the allotted time amount
I would steam it as that causes less damage to the wall.
It depends upon what kind of wall it is. Masonry? Wood....

Paper border
Use a 'paper tiger` scoring tool then mix Downey fabric softener--3oz to large spray bottle and fill with HOT water. Spray border well, wait a few mins. then use plastic puddy knife to remove. May need to respray as you go along. Wask area with viniger water after-- to make sure all paste is removed.
I found an extremely easy way to remove wallpaper. Get a spray bottle and put about a cup of liquid fabric softener and fill the rest of the bottle with very warm water. Shake the bottle and spray it on the wallpaper and let it set for about 10 minutes, then spray it again. Then get a putty knife preferably plastic and scrap away. Most of it won’t even need the putty knife. It will come off at ease. You can even pull the wallpaper off with your hands. It’s very messy but it works. I did my old house that had wallpaper in the entryway that would not come off for nothing. I used everything I could buy and it would not budge. The fabric softener worked and it was something I already had at home.
