How can I make a cheap patio?
I need a place to set up my patio set outside in my backyard. It doesn’t need to be huge, just a 10x10 to set table, umbrella, and 4 chairs.

We used large format pavers for about that size and it has held up very well over the years. We did it in an afternoon which you can see here: https://humboldtartdept.blogspot.com/2014/05/doing-it-up-patio-style-patio-days-are.html?m=1
Get half bricks discarded at a building site, and lay them in a circle starting in the middle radiating outs you get bricks until its big enough for your area!
You could just buy square sidewalk blocks and set them on your lawn or build a small deck/platform with treated wood. The sidewalk blocks will probably shift with the seasons while the deck platform wouldn't move as much.
We have an 8' circle of used bricks. Don't remember how long it took my husband to do it, this was pre-internet! And he had to build a structure around it 'cause ours supports a grape arbor, but bricks came first.
This one looks pretty affordable

A gravel pad can be an initial patio. Clear away any vegetation, put in landscape fabric, make a border, and have (5/8 minus or smaller) gravel delivered. Spread the gravel a few inches deep. Don't use pea gravel. The gravel will compact to a fairly hard surface since it has various size stones down to sand. I use this to make walkways. It also provides good drainage and will make a great sub-base when you eventually want to add pavers or concrete.
