Hi Lindsay, a couple of thoughts:
Hi Lindsay, that's too bad that you did the work and now don't care for the color. Have you thought about masking off a few stripes (either vertically or horizontally) to add some color? Another idea is to find a colorful piece of fabric that makes you smile and use liquid starch to adhere it to a large area of your wall. That would serve as a focal point and is easily removable to change it out later. Maybe add in a few colorful throws or throw pillows as any color will go with your light freshly painted walls.
Frame and hang fabric panels you like.
Add color through lightly colored sheers and draperies or valances. Also large art work (can be purchased at Good will ) would add a lot of color. Pick something to accent the colors in your room. Don't forget the floors. Get the largest area rug in a bright color.
Get a quilt or bedspread in a darker color of the same color on the walls. Maybe some pillows or a throw if you don't want to do that. Some art work with the color or a darker shade will help bring it out.
From Lindsay, thanks so much for your great ideas.
If your trim isn't bright white you could paint it and the contrast will make the walls look darker. Very dark accents will make the walls look lighter so you might want to stay with bright white, light or medium tones for picture frames, drapes bedspread etc. Personally, I love white walls or barely off white walls.
