What style are u trying to achieve
Are you able to extend the kitchen into another room? Light colors will help. Paint the cabinets a cream color. Get plenty of light in there. Undercabinet lighting is really nice. Make sure ceiling light is nice and bright. If you have the room, put glass cabinets on the top of the wall cabinets and put lights in them. Hi Robert, Utilize the space above the cabinets, if not already in use. It is rather difficult to imagine your kitchen without pictures. Use of reflective surfaces might be one way or by using a White or very light walls and cabinets would be another way, and just use strong colours as accessories.
If you have room. Build shelves under cabinets. If not then maybe on the walls. I didn't have the room. So I bought a bakers rack. It works great. You can use it for Dishes and bowls. Or pots and pans.
If you want it to look bigger. Hang door Mirrors on the walls. You can put colorful decals on them to.
