I have a lovely little birdbath but it is plastic. Although be it heavy plastic. but it is always needing to be scrubbed out because it gets mold in the bottom. Is there anything I can to do keep it free from that ugliness? I can't send a picture . Thanks Bea

  • Change the water frequently. Add a few drops of vinegar to the water. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant and will not harm the birds.

I agree with the vinegar in the water. Try washing it with bleach water to get at the stain, rinse it and let it dry. Spritz it with vinegar well and let it sit for a while or until it is dry. That should kill the remaining spores and help keep it away for a while longer. Adding a few drops of vinegar to the water will help keep it away longer also. I hope that we helped you!
