Any ideas on temporary fix on a shattered glass door window.

  • Plexiglass glass, wood or even cardboard duct taped over the opening. I lost a bunch of big windows in an earthquake, we had to use whatever was available since it was January, so sheets of plywood is what we had to use - we screwed into the studs from the exterior. Not the best, but you do what you gotta do. Took a lot of exterior repair, but there was no other option.

    If you don't need to worry about burglars, foam core board glued or tacked in place?

    A piece of plywood cut to fit will work until it can be replaced.

    Drill holes in a sheet of plexiglass so you can screw it on.

    We had a huge window above our door in a center hall colonial that shattered. We used clear contact paper over the glass until a new glass was ordered. For a door, I would carefully cover inside and outside of the glass for extra strength. Good luck!
